UPDATE 11:01AM: According to the Orlando Sentinel, as per a Walt Disney World spokesperson, the refurbishment to the guest rooms at the Polynesian will include adding decorating details reminiscent of Disney’s feature film, Moana. The colors used will be inspired by the Pacific Ocean, as will the textures and stylings.
UPDATE 10:48AM: Due to the upcoming work in the Great Ceremonial House, monorail service to Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort will be temporarily suspended beginning in early October 2020 with no reopening date announced as of yet.
As Walt Disney World Resort hotels continue to reopen, Disney has announced that they have delayed the reopening date for Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort which will now reopen next summer instead of on October 4, 2020, as originally planned.
This adjustment to the reopening schedule will allow Disney to perform refurbishments including enhancements to the Great Ceremonial House and guest rooms. Work is expected to begin in early October.
The Villas and Bungalows at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort will remain open during this refurbishment.
