UPDATE 8/29/18 8:30 a.m.: Sammy Duvall’s Watersports has posted a confirmation of their intent to close on their Facebook page and the closing date is in face 8/31/18.
There is some speculation online that Sammy Duvall’s Watersports will be closing indefinitely on August 31, 2018. Sammy Duvall’s has been offering parasailing, water skiing, tubing and personal watercraft rentals at Disney’s Contemporary Resort marina since 1998.
While we cannot confirm this rumor, when we attempted to make a parasailing reservation in September we were told that they would be “closed for a refurbishment.” When we followed up and asked when the refurbishment would be completed we were told that they “did not know.”
If Sammy Duvall’s Watersports is, in fact, closing it remains it unclear whether Disney will still be offering parasailing and other watersport services with a new third-party company or if Disney will provide these services themselves.
