Social media helps reunite lost Disney lanyard with autistic owner DisneyLanyard

With the help of social media, a young girl with autism has her missing Disneyland lanyard back.

Cast Member Emily Fuller Gibby was working a pin release at the Disneyland Resort recently when she noticed a lanyard that had been left behind at the event.  Attached to the lanyard was a note that read, “Hello I am autistic and I don’t talk much, but I would like to trade for Mickey pins!”

Gibby filled the lanyard with Mickey Mouse pins, then took to the internet, posting the story and a picture on her Facebook and Instagram pages.  The Facebook post was shared more then 12,000 times moving through several Disney groups.

With Gibby’s help, Susie, a young girl with autism and the owner of the lanyard, has been located.  The lanyard was returned along with a few extra Disneyland gifts.

On Facebook, Gibby wrote, “I’m so happy to see so many people care about someone they have never met! The world is still full of great people.”
