A beloved classic attraction is making its return to Disneyland Park this holiday season. Disney has announced that the Storybook Land Canal Boats will officially reopen on November 14, 2025, after a period of refurbishment – and fans have an exciting new scene to look forward to when it does. The attraction will debut a brand-new miniature version of Rapunzel’s Tower from Walt Disney Animation Studios’ Tangled, adding a fresh chapter to the storybook landscapes guests sail past during their journey.
The Storybook Land Canal Boats, located in Fantasyland, first opened in 1956 and has remained one of Disneyland’s most charming experiences. Guests board open-air boats and drift through a gentle canal lined with intricately crafted miniature scenes from Disney animated stories. Each vignette is filled with fine detail, lush landscaping, and scaled-down architecture, making it a favorite for families, Disney history fans, and those who enjoy slower, scenic attractions.

The addition of Rapunzel’s Tower marks the latest in a long tradition of updates that keep Storybook Land reflective of Disney’s evolving animated legacy. The tower is expected to feature the warm, rustic styling and whimsical touches seen in Tangled, with design inspirations taken directly from the film’s fairy-tale world of Corona. Disney has not yet revealed whether elements such as Rapunzel’s glowing lanterns or her cascading golden hair will be incorporated – but given the attraction’s attention to detail, many guests are anticipating a magical reveal.
Its reopening timing also aligns with the holiday season at Disneyland Resort, when the parks are transformed with seasonal décor, festive food, and limited-time entertainment offerings. The return of Storybook Land Canal Boats provides another nostalgic, heartwarming experience for families visiting during this special time.
We’re looking forward to seeing more images of the new miniature as opening day approaches. Guests planning holiday visits in late 2025 should expect Storybook Land to once again be one of Fantasyland’s most picturesque and leisurely attractions – now with a little extra Tangled magic.
