During most D23 Expos there are fans that wait hours in line to hear stories from Imagineers, witness announcements about upcoming theme park attractions, see their favorite movie stars, or get autographs from a Disney Channel actor…then there are others that miss all of that because they are waiting in endless merchandise lines for the latest new collectible pin, doll, or Vinylmation. Based on the information released about the 2017 Disney Dream Store, this year will be no exception.
Guests will be able to celebrate several theme park anniversaries with collectible merchandise marking the 50th anniversary of Pirates of the Caribbean, 40th anniversary of Space Mountain, 35th anniversary of Epcot, and 30th anniversary of Star Tours.
There will be other theme park merchandise as well, including new jewelry from ALEX AND ANI, Crislu, and Rebecca Hook.
The D23 Expo will mark the debut of the new Interchangeable Bow Collection, which will allow guests to customize their Mickey Ears headband with six specially designed bows.
Also debuting at the Expo are the new making-your-own “R5-D23” droid and Brethupp the Ewok plush.
The Dream Store is also the home for official D23 Expo merchandise, including shirts, hats, glassware, pins and other souvenirs, plus a collection of merchandise celebrating 30 years of Disney Legends.
Many different Disney artists will be featured at the Dream Store and will be showcasing new original artwork, giclees, and deluxe prints. Artists featured at the Expo include Dave Avanzino, Jasmine Becket-Griffith, Joey Chou, Craig Fraser, Jerrod Maruyama, Miss Mindy, Mike Peraza, Larry Nikolai, Noah, Linda Rick, Shag, Jim Shore, and Javier Soto.
Guests will also get a chance to have the artists sign their work as some of the artists, along with several Disney authors, visit the Dream Store for autograph sessions. A full schedule will be released soon.
The D23 Expo will take place July 14-16, 2017 at the Anaheim Convention Center.
