The Polite Pig, a new restaurant venture from Ravenous Pig owners James and Julie Petrakis, will open in Disney Springs’ Town Center in Spring 2017. The Petrakis’ run Ravenous Pig and a second restaurant, Cask & Larder, in nearby Winter Park, Florida, though those two locations are going to merge into one building in 2018. They also just opened an eatery in the Orlando International Airport, opened Swine & Son Provisions in Winter Park in 2015, and are consulting partners in DoveCote, a new French restaurant in downtown Orlando.

The Polite Pig will be a fast-casual feel and the couple, who are James Beard award nominees, will run the restaurant with James’ brother Brian, who owns and operates Greens & Grille in Orlando.

Julie said, “It seems like the right time and place and people want these dining options. We feel like we are bringing some of the things from the restaurant in Winter Park out there to Disney.”

Look for wood-fired, smoked, and grilled foods at The Polite Pig, such as grilled salmon BLTs, pulled pork sandwiches, charred broccoli salad, and apple slaw. Beers will be brewed at the Cask & Larder location. Beers from other local breweries will be available also, as well as wine and cocktails on tap.

The 5,000 square foot space will also offer an outdoor patio. Customers will order at a counter looking into the kitchen, then will find a seat and their meals will be brought to them.

Keith Bradford, Disney Springs vice president, said, “They’re excellent at what they do. I think it’s going to be a great, great fit. Obviously, we love all our tourists and we love all the people who come and visit Orlando every year, but we also wanted to have a little local flavor too.”

He also added that there are a few restaurants yet to be announced for Disney Springs and that construction is underway.
