Sponsorship agreements have ended, so The Sum of all Thrills and StormStruck will be closing at Innoventions East at Epcot. The last day for these attractions will be September 14, 2016.
The Sum of all Thrills is presented by Raytheon and allows guests to design their own thrill ride. Guests use math, science, and engineering in their design and then are able to board a simulator pod at the end of a robot arm to experience the ride you designed.
StormStruck helps guests learn how to prepare for a hurricane or strong storm. Special effects are then used to allow you to feel the wind and water swirling around you.
With the exit of these two attractions, Innoventions East will be left with only one – Colortopia by Glidden.
Innoventions West is already “temporarily closed” and currently only home to the Character spot, a D-Zone relaxation area, and a Disney Visa Photo Place meet and greet.
Leah grew up in a little farming town in Illinois, right on the Mississippi River. Her Chicago-born husband, David, left the city for her, and they're now raising their three children (Jacob, Jonah and Lydia) just 12 miles from her hometown. As the Senior Editor of the DIS (wdwinfo.com), Leah spends a lot of time writing about, reading about, and discussing Disney. So, it should come as no surprise that one of her family's favorite ways to spend time is going to Walt Disney World and traveling on Disney Cruise Line. She also enjoys shopping, watching movies with her husband and doing crafts with and for her kids.
