One of the Walt Disney World monorails stopped running on Saturday afternoon, October 10, and had to be evacuated. The train stopped for mechanical issues around 5:00pm, between the Magic Kingdom and the Contemporary Resort.
Reedy Creek Fire Rescue evacuated the train’s dozens of passengers, a process that took around two hours. The incident caused traffic to back up behind the train.
Everyone was safely evacuated, but many passengers tweeted that they had been stuck on the broken monorail for hours.
