Muppet Mobile Lab returns to Walt Disney World

One of the coolest creations to ever come from Disney, Muppet Mobile Lab, has finally returned back to Epcot after many years and a journey around the world. Muppet Mobile Lab is part of Disney’s Living Character Initiative that brings our favorite characters to life! The first “living” character to debut as part of the initiative as a free-roaming audio animatronic was Lucky the Dinosaur back in 2003 with Muppet Mobile Lab following in 2007.

The show runs approximately 10 minutes long and features Dr. Bunsen Honeydew and his assistant Beaker showing off the wonders of science via their mobile lab. The mobile lab is essentially just a Segway with the two animatronic Muppets sitting on top of it. Dr. Bunsen Honeydew and Beaker can be controlled by a puppeteer from a distant location, but still manage to interact with guests via cameras and microphones built into the vehicle.

Currently, the show is taking place right behind Spaceship Earth with Muppet Mobile Lab entering and exiting from Innoventions West. There are no set schedule times and it could happen randomly throughout the day.

Of course, this past week has been heaven for Walt Disney World and Muppet fans with the debut of The Muppets Present… Great Moments in American History and now the return of Muppet Mobile Lab. Once PizzeRizzo opens up over in Disney’s Hollywood Studios, it will truly feel like The Muppets are finally getting the love they have always deserved from Disney!  Check out our videos from the new Muppet show at the Magic Kingdom and the construction progress on PizzeRizzo below and let us know if you’re excited to see Muppet Mobile Lab!
