If you follow theme park coverage on YouTube, social media, or articles like this one, you’ve probably noticed: Universal Epic Universe is everywhere. Updates, land and ride reviews, YouTube videos, restaurant menus, hotel tours — it can feel like you’re seeing something new every hour.

Now, if those early announcements caught your attention and you’re excited to visit Universal Orlando’s newest theme park, all this news probably feels thrilling. Maybe you’re even planning to split your next Orlando trip between Disney and Universal, and you love every juicy update. But if you’re a Disney World loyalist who mainly cares about all things Mickey and Minnie, it’s understandable if the constant Epic Universe coverage feels… a little overwhelming.

You’re not imagining it — some of your favorite Disney vloggers, bloggers, and news outlets have shifted a lot of their time toward covering Universal’s big moment. And because there’s only so much time in a day (and so many videos and articles they can create), there’s naturally been a little less focus on the Disney magic you know and love.

If you are overwhelmed by all of the focus on Universal, don’t worry. It doesn’t mean Disney is fading. It doesn’t mean your favorite creators will stop making Disney content. It just means the conversation is going through a season that might not align exactly with your passions. Seasons change, and this one will too. Just wait, how little there is to talk about at Universal once exciting lands like Villains Land opens…

The good news? There is still plenty of wonderful Disney coverage happening. It might just be a little bit more mixed in with Universal coverage than you are used to. More importantly, Disney isn’t going anywhere. Despite Universal delivering a firm kick in the pants with their latest moves, Disney is — and remains — the king of Orlando. Once Epic Universe officially opens and the initial excitement settles, you’ll see the spotlight shift back to Disney’s endless stories, characters, and experiences.

In the meantime, remember that in the world of theme park journalism — much like Ricky Bobby said — “If you ain’t first, you’re last.” Covering Epic Universe right now is critical for vloggers, bloggers, and outlets. They have to be early, because if they aren’t, someone else will be — and then their coverage risks feeling like “old news.”

So if the Epic Universe hype isn’t your thing right now, that’s perfectly fine. Just stay patient, stay positive, and know that the stories and parks you love aren’t being left behind — they’re simply waiting their turn to step back into the spotlight.
