4 Signs That It Has Been too Long Since You’ve Been to Walt Disney World Disney-Grand-Floridian-25

For most of my life I’ve lived in upstate New York, which is 1,245 miles away from Walt Disney World. The great distance between me and my favorite place in the world was difficult, but it did make every Walt Disney World vacation that much more special. Luckily my family loved Walt Disney World as well, and so we would come as often as we could, which was about every 3 to 4 years. I quickly learned that the time between two separate Disney parks vacations would be especially difficult for me because my love for Disney went beyond the interest that the rest of my family had. A year or two without being in the parks and my obsession with waiting for the next trip began to show signs that it had been too long. Here are the 4 signs you’ll see when it has been too long since your last trip.

4) You Start Planning Fake Disney Vacations

Planning a fake trip to the concierge level suite at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa or a long stay at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge can seem like a great way to ease the pain of not being in Walt Disney World, but it is also the first sign that you might need to start planning a real trip. Planning a fake Disney vacation is a great way to get your mind off of the real world, and lets your mind escape to your paradise, but it is incredibly depressing when you realize that that trip is never going to happen. I suggest if you start planning a Walt Disney World vacation, plan a realistic trip with a budget that you family can afford so that when the time comes to actually take your trip you’ll have all your plans already laid out.

3) You Start Listening to Audio from the Parks at Home

If you have downloaded the Wishes Nighttime Spectacular soundtrack and listen to it on repeat on your way to and from work, then it might be time for your next trip to Walt Disney World. I always found myself listening to the Soarin’ soundtrack walking to class while I was in college. These Disney park soundtracks can really temporarily transport your mind from a boring ride in the car to Main Street U.S.A. At home I became so obsessed with wanting to include Disney parks’ audio into my life that I made my ringtone the soundtrack to the Main Street Electrical Parade. Every time my phone rang my friends would joking ask “When are you going back to Disney again?”

2) You Have Watched Disney Parks Videos Online a Thousand Times

Watching Disney Parks-related videos on YouTube can help ease the pain of being away from your favorite place on earth, but there comes a time when you need the real thing. Watching the fireworks, or a ride-through online is great, but it is only a temporary solution. Just watching the videos online is nothing compared to physically seeing and experiencing Walt Disney World on vacation.

1) You Begin Forgetting the Names of Attractions and Restaurants

It has officially been too long since you were in Walt Disney World when you begin to forget the names of locations, attractions, and restaurants throughout the property. Slipping up and calling FastPass, “SpeedPass” means you officially need to book your flight to Orlando. It has simply been too long for a true Walt Disney World fan when they begin calling their favorite attractions by the wrong name. If you have recently called Expedition Everest, “the Mount Kilimanjaro roller coaster” then it is time for you to start looking at how much vacation time you have to spend.
