BaseLine Tap House has been open for nearly 7 years and continues to be our favorite spot to take a break and soak in the atmosphere of Disney’s Hollywood Studios (DHS). BaseLine is located in the Grand Avenue section of DHS and serves a wide range of craft beers, cocktails, wine, non-alcoholic specialty drinks, and snacks.
Back in 2017, BaseLine took over the Writer’s Stop, a coffee shop and original home of the famous carrot cake cookie. This is also the last remaining section of the retired Streets of America, which has since become Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge.
Like anywhere in a Disney Park, there is a back story of how BaseLine Tap House came to be. This space was once Figueroa Printing Company; a fictional printing house for the Walt Disney Studios in Burbank, California. Inside BaseLine, you can see some of the art prints for opening day Disneyland attractions. The Baseline sign out front even resembles printing blocks.
BaseLine offers both indoor and outdoor seating, but it’s the outdoor tables we love the most. Especially during golden hour when the café lights turn on and the Florida heat cools down the tiniest bit. Despite being in a busy theme park, sitting at BaseLine feels like you could be at your favorite brewery or outdoor park.
One of the many reasons we love BaseLine is for the snack options! In particular, the Bavarian pretzel and the charcuterie board. Both are shareable in size, making them an arguably good value at Disney and offering a unique snack option for Hollywood Studios.
Bavarian Pretzel – served with beer-cheese fondue and spicy mustard for $10. California Cheese and Charcuterie Plate – Toma Farmstead Cheese, Point Reyes Original Blue Cheese, Laura Chenel’s Sonoma Goat Cheese, Chorizo and Calabrese Salami, Cornichons, Grapes and Toasted Baguettes for $13.
Since BaseLine is fictionally set in California, most of the craft beers on the menu are from breweries located in the Golden State. For example, there is a large selection of Sierra Nevada drafts which calls Chico, CA home. The beer menu does rotate and offers seasonal options like Oktoberfest, Celebration IPA, and Summerfest. You can get any of these options in either a 16 ounce pour for $10.25 or a 20 ounce pour for $11.25. With beers like Stone Delicious IPA having an ABV of 7.7%… $11.25 might make it one of the best drink deals at Disney World.
While the food and drinks at BaseLine Tap House are fantastic, our favorite thing about BaseLine is the opportunity to sit amongst friends and have great conversations about Disney in a space that feels like home.
