Don’t Miss ‘Festival of the Lion King’ in Disney’s Animal Kingdom

The Festival of the Lion King in Animal Kingdom is a top-notch production. If you have ever questioned the price of admission to Walt Disney World, this show makes your ticket seem like a bargain. Did you know that this is the longest-running attraction in Animal Kingdom? This show is in the Africa section of the park.

The show is approximately 45 minutes long and is very popular. I try to hit the first show in the morning or one of the last two shows at night. There is no need to use Lightning Lane for this attraction, since the theater seats about 1,500 people. Just be prepared to wait in the queue for 35-40 minutes between shows. Lightning Lane doesn’t get you a better seat, so save your money for something else.

It is a wonderful show that uses beautiful music and singers, puppets, and acrobatic performers, the tumble monkeys are a crowd favorite. They are used to tell the story of Simba and his friends celebrating The Lion King. They also involve the crowds in the theater by dividing the theater into sections featuring an animal from the show. Guests add to the fun by making a noise that their animal makes. They also get children out of the audience to walk around and dance with them.
