I often get a lot of puzzled looks when I tell people that I have an annual pass for Walt Disney World. I am not a Florida resident; far from it, living in the Midwest, but I still manage to make great use of my annual pass! Regardless of where you live, an annual pass makes it so the magic does not feel very far away. Here are four reasons why an annual pass is a great option for everyone, not just those geographically close to WDW:
1) Save money when going multiple times per year.
The price of an annual pass for Walt Disney World may seem like a hefty amount, but in reality it will typically pay for itself in just two 4-day tickets with park hoppers. When the price of Memory Maker (which is included in an annual pass) is added in, you’ll find that overall you will come out ahead if you are one who would like to travel to WDW at least twice within a 12-month period.
2) Annual pass discounts help make trips easier (and more fun!).
When my family was looking for a vacation destination for the end of summer, we ended up finding that a trip to Walt Disney World was our cheapest option. Not only are there often discounts on resort rooms, but also on many full service restaurants and all Disney merchandise. Put those discounts together with the park admission that is already covered, a WDW vacation suddenly becomes reasonable.
3) It is an easy and quick getaway.
It is no secret that Disney makes travel easy. As an annual passholder, you can book a quick trip without having to worry about a huge added expense to the household budget. The pressure of it being a “once in a lifetime” trip is gone because you know you’ll be back. Trips can be more about relaxing and experiencing new and different aspects of Walt Disney World that you might otherwise blow past when you only have a short time to see everything there is to see in the parks.
4) Get a discount on the Shop Disney Parks App.
You do not even have to be in Central Florida to benefit from being an annual passholder. When using the Shop Disney Parks app, WDW annual passholders receive 20% off their purchases. All you have to do is link your annual pass to your My Disney Experience account and then get all of your favorite park merchandise (including many passholder exclusive items) easily and affordably from home. While it may be a little dangerous to have such easy access to all of the Disney merchandise, you can at least rationalize your purchases by the fact that you will be saving so much money!
Purchasing an annual pass is a way to ensure that the magic is always easily accessible to you no matter how far away from it you may live. While it may sound like a big commitment and a far fetched desire, there are many ways for you to come out ahead when becoming a Walt Disney World annual passholder.
