Friends! It’s November 1st! That means it’s Christmas time here in Orlando. Magic Kingdom transformed overnight; all the ghosts returned to the Haunted Mansion, and Main Street, U.S.A. became a winter wonderland (I write that as I am sweating hiding in air conditioning). Almost all of the decorations have been put up, and the most noticeable piece missing is the giant Christmas tree, but I’m sure it will be up in the next few days. Instead of harping on what hasn’t been put up, let’s look at what has appeared overnight.
Garland and Wreaths
I am a sucker for the garland and Christmas wreaths. I love how Main Street, U.S.A. has many different types that can be seen in other areas of the street. I think it makes each section unique. However, I prefer that more traditional red and green-themed garland, the new wreaths with different fruits have grown on me. Seeing a pineapple on a wreath makes me feel better about sweating while being excited about Christmas.
The Emporium and Merchandise
Parts of the Emporium have changed over from Halloween to Christmas as well. This means all the fun holiday merchandise is starting to be laid out for guests to purchase. I fell in love with one of the holiday ears, but then I saw it was priced at $49.99, so $50, and I immediately put them down. The same thing happened with the Starbucks cup. I always forget how expensive they are until I pick them up and see the price tag.
I hope the Christmas tree will be up tomorrow or the day after, but nonetheless, it always amazes me how fast they can transform Main Street, U.S.A., from one holiday to the next.
