Happy Mardi Gras! Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is coming to Walt Disney World Summer of 2024 and the Louisiana party is already happening over at Port Orleans French Quarter Resort! In a new segment called Disney Snack Attack!, the DIS Unlimited team snacked on these unique Disney beignets. At Walt Disney World, you can currently find beignets year-round at the Scat Cat’s Club Cafe located in the Port Orleans French Quarter lobby. In addition to the classic Mickey-shaped beignets, you can add dipping sauces, including salted caramel, strawberry, and chicory chocolate ganache. Personally, the chocolate is my favorite! If you want to take it up several notches, you can order a sundae version of these “little beauties.” Yes, that was a Soarin’ quote.
Speaking of taking beignets to the next level, Scat Cat’s offers Baton Rouge Beignets infused with a liqueur of your choice – Bailey’s Irish Cream, Kahlua, or RumChata. Priced at $12.49 for two boozy beignets, our team decided to try the RumChata version. To quote Ryno, “…this is one of the most delicious things I’ve ever bitten into.” I would absolutely agree with this and can’t wait to come back and snack on these again! Notice these beignets are not Mickey shaped… Mickey isn’t participating in these antics!
As if you needed another reason to beignet all day at Port Orleans, Scat Cat’s offers a seasonal beignet. On our visit, we enjoyed the Bananas Foster Beignets. Described as “A trio of honey-glazed Mickey-shaped beignets with a house-made bananas foster sauce.” These specialty beignets are priced at $7.99. This is only $0.20 more than the classic Mickey beignets and to me, worth every penny! The team all loved these beignets and thought the bananas foster was the perfect addition. In fact, we would have loved even more of the sauce!
