Oga’s Cantina: The Fuzzy Tauntaun is Tingling Again!

If it has been a while since your last visit to Oga’s Cantina in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, I have a reason to go back: the Fuzzy Tauntaun is fuzzy fun again!

The Fuzzy Tauntaun has always been my favorite drink at Oga’s. The $19 cocktail combines Ketel One Botanical Peach & Orange Vodka, Bols Peach Schnapps Liqueur, orange juice with tangerine, and pure cane sugar, then tops everything with its famous tingling foam made from Buzz Buttons (also known as electric daisies or Szechuan buttons). These contain a natural compound called spilanthol, which creates the harmless buzzing, tingling, and slightly numbing sensation on your lips and tongue that makes the drink so memorable.

The Fuzzy Tauntaun is deliciously citrus-forward without being *too* sweet, but let’s be honest… the foam is the reason to order it!

— Fuzzy Tauntaun and the Bad Motivator IPA

When Oga’s Cantina first opened, the foam was a lot stronger. Your lips and tongue would buzz and tingle just after taking a sip, creating a numbing sensation that made the drink different from anything else at Walt Disney World. Over time, though, the sensation lost a lot of its power. The Fuzzy Tauntaun was still tasty, but during some of my more recent visits, the tingling had become so subtle that the drink lost a big part of what made it special.

During my recent visit, our bartender asked how I liked my Fuzzy Tauntaun, and I immediately mentioned that the foam felt much more active. That started a conversation about the drink, and our bartender confirmed that the foam recipe had been improved. They would not say exactly what was changed, but whatever Oga’s has done worked!

Trying a New-To-Me Cantina Bite

We also tried the Thruster Roasted Bantha Flatbread ($19), a naan flatbread topped with spiced chorizo beef and a four-cheese blend.

Visually, I have to admit, it is a little questionable. Once you shine some light on it, there’s a lot of bright red and purple happening… which doesn’t exactly scream “order me.” Thankfully, it tastes MUCH better than it looks. This is VERY cheesy — which is all of that red you see — while the chorizo and beef are plentiful and flavorful, making this a good and filling quick bite alongside a drink.

My biggest complaint is the price. For the size of the flatbread, and even adjusted with some theme park food inflation, this should be closer to $14. But, if you’re already inside Oga’s and want something more substantial than snacks, it is tasty and easy to share with a friend (or not).

Between the improved Fuzzy Tauntaun (along with the other tasty beverage options) and listening to DJ R-3X play the latest galactic hits, Oga’s Cantina is always worth the stop!
