Port Orleans French Quarter (POFQ) may not have a sit-down dining location but it does have some really great food options and atmosphere! On a recent stay at the resort, the DIS Unlimited team stumbled upon a DIY brunch option at Disney that I will be re-creating in the near future!
The mossy oak trees, brick streets, and jazz music set the perfect scene for brunch in Disney’s version of the French Quarter. If the weather is nice enough, I highly recommend sitting outside to soak in the beauty of the resort and to also people watch… of course.
So here’s the catch – you are going to need to visit multiple locations within POFQ to create the perfect brunch menu. First up, at Sassagoula Floatworks & Food Factory you can pick from standard Disney breakfast items with a few surprises. I would highly recommend the loaded totcho bowl pictured below. For $10.99, it is topped with scrambled eggs, cheddar cheese, sausage gravy, bacon, and green onions. Add a dash of hot sauce, and this is a solid quick-service meal you could split with two people!
We also sampled the Western omelet for $10.99 and the bounty platter with vanilla pancakes, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, and potato barrels for $12.79. These two were less exciting, but if you have a sweet tooth, I would recommend getting the vanilla pancakes by themselves.
Here’s where it gets interesting! Right next door at the Scat Cat’s Club Cafe, you can choose from classic Mickey beignets, boozy beignets, or a limited-time specialty option like bananas foster. We’re a huge fan of the RumChata Liqueur beignets and they would be the perfect brunch addition! You can also grab a café au lait made with chiccory coffee if you’re looking for a New Orleans classic.
Last but certainly not least, grab a bottle of prosecco from Jackson Square Gifts so you can enjoy mimosas with your Disney brunch! We were pleasantly surprised to see a bottle of prosecco was under $30 in the gift shop and we shared it amongst our table.
If you’ve stayed at a Disney resort, you know there’s nothing better than waking up at Disney! Add in a leisurely brunch with mimosas and beignets and you have a recipe for the perfect morning.
