As the kids these days would say, I was today years old when I first heard of Bombolato, and my world has been made better for it. This delicious and inventive snack option in Disney Springs graced my screen with its glorious presence, and I knew it had to be shared with our DIS Community. The dessert is called a Bombolato, and despite my best guess, it has nothing to do with another impressive dessert with a similar name, bomb Alaska. Instead, it’s described as a warm Italian donut stuffed with your favorite Gelato choice. I’m just going to take a quick pause and let that sink in. Gelato stuffed donut. Yes, please.
Where can you find this masterpiece being made? That would be Disney Springs, at the famous Vivoli il Gelato! The dessert will set you back $10.50, but by the looks of it, it could be worth every cent of that! Let me know if you have tried this one and if you have any tips on the best flavor combos!
Side note: Guests can find a similar dessert at L’Artisan des Glaces in the France pavilion at EPCOT called Croque Glacé – 1 scoop of ice cream or sorbet with a choice of sauce in a homemade brioche, pressed warm for $9.50.
