There’s a lot happening these days at Disney Springs, and help us stay up to date on our happy place, I thought we’d take a virtual spin around the place. Ready? Here we go…
Lovepop has opened their Disney Springs’ Town Center brick and mortar location. Even if you’re not in the market for a greeting card, please stop by. The cards were designed by engineers, and are intricate works of art and keepsakes all on their own.
I’ll have more to say about the new shop in the days to come, but just know that the shop’s having a sale (4 for $40) on their regular cards right now (licensed cards are around $15 each). If you drop by anytime in the near future, ask for Olga. She’s a fount of knowledge and incredibly helpful.
The M&Ms Store is coming along. The store is slated to open this year, but as with everything COVID, we know we might have to take opening dates with a grain of salt. The new store will be next door to Splitsville.
We have a new sign around Disney Springs that reminds guests that they could be removed from Disney property should they refuse to properly wear an approved facial covering. If you arrive to the Orange Garage without a face mask, there’s a convenient face mask vending machine nearby.
The Watermelon parking lot has once again reopened. The Watermelon lot, located in front of Cirque du Soliel, opens every day to guests at 3pm and is the first surface parking lot to reopen to guests. A temperature check station is available as guests approach the area in between Cirque and City Works Eatery and Pour House. At this time, the Strawberry parking lot, located behind House of Blues, is only available to cast members.
Construction continues on both Gideon’s Bakehouse and Everglazed Donuts and Cold Brew.
Gideon’s upcoming Disney Springs flagship location can be found in The Landing across from Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar, and Everglazed is near Splitsville in the former Pop Gallery location.
No new construction seems to be currently taking place on the site of Beatrix in West Side, and what was to become Ample Hills Creamery’s second WDW location sits empty after the company filed for Chapter 11.
It’ll be interesting to see what comes to these to spots in the days ahead.
