We’re just one day ahead of the grand opening of Orlando’s newest theme park — Universal Epic Universe. In a move that shocked theme park fans, the President of Walt Disney World Resort, Jeff Vahle, publicly offered congratulations to the Universal Orlando team — a notable gesture of community over competition.

Vahle shared a post on Instagram featuring a stylized image of the state of Florida with the caption:
“It takes great passion and dedication to bring new projects to life. Best of luck to the Universal Orlando team with the opening of Epic Universe! Another big win for tourism in Florida.”
Vahle’s message arrives as Universal hosts a week of high-profile events, including invited VIPs and media, celebrating the launch of its fourth Orlando theme park. Universal Epic Universe officially opens to the public on Thursday, May 22nd. A livestream of the grand opening ceremony will be available this evening, May 21st.
