One of the beautiful things about a Disney vacation is that it is such a versatile destination. Whether you are on your way to Walt Disney World or venturing to Disneyland, the possibilities are endless in the parks and the surrounding areas. Focusing on theme parks, there is a diverse range of experiences that can cater to the needs of almost all ages, abilities, and interests. We’ve got fast rides, slow rides, dark rides, and interactive rides; whatever floats your boat, Disney’s got you covered. But what happens if the ride your family loves is the very one you can not stand?
I’ve been lucky enough to spend a lot of time in the Disney Parks, and over the years, I have developed both my favorites and my list of missable attractions. We are an easily-pleased bunch, loving everything from the wild rides of back-to-back Space Mountain adventures to a leisurely ride around Living with the Land. We love it all; well, almost. There are a handful of rides that our family disagrees on, and while they are few and far between, there are two that we dig in on.
Someone in my family hates one of my favorite rides in any Disney park. Guardians of the Galaxy: Mission Breakout is a no-no for this person, whereas the rest of us could ride that elevator shaft for the first hour of the day without stopping. And even though it is easy to say just ride something else, it’s hard to leave one person excluded, especially when it isn’t one of the adults. Instead, we do our own version of ride-sharing, taking turns doing something else with that person while the others take advantage of a short-line opportunity on GotG.
On the other hand, there is another attraction that someone else hates riding. Okay, I can’t even pretend on this one; it’s me; I hate it. It’s Goofy’s Sky School, and this won’t be the first time you have seen me admit this. I feel like I am going to fall out of it. It’s jerky and rattley, and while that might be a part of its charm for some, I’ll be waiting for another loop on the Incredicoaster (usually with roughly the same wait time). For them, it’s a must-do, and for me, it’s a are-you-serious?
