Spring has officially sprung at EPCOT, and the 2026 International Flower & Garden Festival is running now through June 1st — which means you’ve still got time to eat your way around World Showcase before the blooms fade! Among the 20+ outdoor kitchens dotting the park, two pastries in particular are earning their spot at the top of any serious foodie’s list. One’s sweet, one’s savory, and both are absolutely worth the walk.
Warm Cheese Strudel with Berry Compote | $4.99
Located in Germany’s Bauernmarkt outdoor kitchen, there’s one dessert that practically defines Flower & Garden for me. Thank goodness it’s back! While the pastry portion does seem to shrink with each passing year, the Warm Cheese Strudel with Berry Compote is a simple treat that punches above its price point.
The pastry itself is light and delightfully flaky, providing the perfect canvas for the sweet, creamy cheese filling tucked inside. But the real star is that berry compote, which brings a bright, tart burst of flavor that cuts through cheese’s richness. It’s flavorful, sweet, and decadent, and at $4.99, it’s practically a steal inside a Disney theme park.
This is far and away my favorite dessert of EPCOT’s springtime festival each year. Okay… a close runner-up is the strawberry shortcake at the Florida Fresh booth.
Tarte Aux Oignons Caramelisés | $8.25
Over in the France pavilion at the Fleur-de-Lis outdoor kitchen, the Tarte Aux Oignons Caramelisés is making a strong case for savory pastry supremacy. This open-faced tart features caramelized onions and bacon layered on a buttery, flaky pastry crust.
The flavors here are rich without being too heavy. The bacon’s saltiness counterbalances the sweetness of the onions, while subtle spicing rounds out the onion inclusion so the flavor isn’t too pungent.
At $8.25, it’s a little more of an investment, but it’s packed with flavor and consistently delivers.
