Extremely Low Temperatures in Orlando Cause Disney Water Park to Close

The entire country is experiencing winter storms, from blizzards to heavy rain. Orlando has some really cold days coming this weekend. Friday, the low is 41 degrees; on Saturday, it’s 32; and on Sunday, it’s 31, so it’s going to be a cold Christmas here in Central Florida.

If you plan to visit Disney’s Blizzard Beach this weekend, I’ve got some bad news for you. The water park will be closed from December 23rd to December 25th and will reopen on the 26th if the weather is warm enough.

This often happens during the winter, but if the cold doesn’t bother you, check out your resort pool and see if it will operate. If not, there are plenty of other activities at the resort and the parks. The cold weather is perfect for the parks; make sure you bundle up and wear layers. The temperature fluctuates a lot here, so you might need t remove or add layers throughout the day.

Here are a few articles that touch on packing for these cold days.

Stay warm this weekend, and if you are in an area experiencing lousy weather, we hope you stay safe.
