The second ever Disney Jollywood Nights at Disney’s Hollywood Studios kicked off on Saturday, November 9th and is offered select nights 7:30 pm until 12:30 am through December 21st, 2024. Tickets range in price from $159 to $179 and dates are beginning to sell out. We recommend purchasing your tickets for this year’s event ASAP!
Only half of our team had been to Jollywood during its inaugural year and with many changes to the 2024 event, it felt like a completely new and exciting holiday event. It was hard to narrow down our highlights from Jollywood Nights, and overall, the atmosphere of the event is what will keep us coming back!
What’s This? Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas Sing-Along
The Nightmare Before Christmas Sing-Along is a returning favorite and is offered in the Hyperion Theater where the Frozen Sing-Along Celebration is offered during regular park hours. The set and props all feel as though they came straight from Tim Burton’s mind and almost the entire soundtrack is played throughout the show. The story is a new concept following two adults who have fallen asleep watching a movie only to find themselves living in a re-enactment of The Nightmare Before Christmas. The highlight of the show has to be the stunningly tall Jack Skellington puppet and a performance by Oogie Boogie. The energy of the show matches the vibe of Jollywood and is actually a great way to both relax and enjoy the feeling of Christmas.
What’s This? Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas Sing-Along is offered five times throughout the night at 7:30 pm, 8:30 pm, 9:30 pm, 11:30 pm, and 12:30 am.
Twilight Soiree at The Tip Top Club
The opportunity to visit The Tip Top Club is a dream of many Disney fans, including me! This is another returning entertainment option from last year’s event and has been enhanced with more decorations and plenty of showtimes. The Tip Top Club is located in the courtyard just behind the Tower of Terror gift shop and features big band-style live music from “Rachel and the Alley Cats” plus The Tip Top Club Dancers. You can also purchase champagne cocktails and mocktails, all served in souvenir champagne flutes. The atmosphere of The Tip Top Club is exactly how I pictured all of Jollywood feeling and the band’s holiday songs are worth the visit alone.
We tried both of the cocktails and while we didn’t love the taste of either one, we did love the souvenir and it just felt right drinking from a champagne flute at The Tip Top Club.
1939 Royale – Teremana Blanco Tequila, Cointreau Orange Liqueur, desert pear, agave nectar, and lime topped with Domaine Ste. Michelle Brut. This cocktail tasted mostly like a mimosa with a little bit of a peppery favor from the tequila.
Top Floor Daiquiri -Parrot Bay Coconut Rum, ube, lime juice, and a splash of shimmer. This was overly sweet but the shimmer in the gold flute was beautiful – $9.50.
The Tip Top Club performances are offered seven times throughout the night at 7:30 pm, 8:10 pm, 8:50 pm, 9:30 pm, 10:30 pm, 11:10 pm, and 11:50 pm.
Disney Holidays in Hollywood
Hosted in the Theater of the Stars where Beauty and the Beast is performed during normal park hours, Disney Holidays in Hollywood feels like a 1960s holiday special in all the best ways. The highlight is, of course, the rare appearance of Kermit the Frog and Miss Piggy. We are also visited by Mickey and Minnie plus Belle in her Christmas dress singing “As Long As There’s Christmas”. This 25-minute long show is the perfect representation of Jollywood Nights. I honestly wish there was another show or experience that mirrored this retro holiday production.
Disney Holidays in Hollywood is offered four times throughout the night at 8:15 pm, 9:15 pm, 11:15 pm, 12:15 am.
Jingle Bell, Jingle BAM!
Jingle Bell, Jingle BAM! originally premiered back in 2016 and after a brief hiatus is back but you can only see it at Jollywood Nights! This festive fireworks show is narrated by the elves Lanny and Wayne from the holiday short Prep & Landing. The story follows the Prep & Landing team on a mission to rescue Santa Claus who has been kidnapped by a familiar Disney villain. The show features projections on the Chinese Theater from a wide range of Disney films, complete with an upbeat Christmas soundtrack including songs like “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree.” Fireworks at Disney’s Hollywood Studios are a rare treat plus the story with the music is so much fun.
Jingle Bell, Jingle BAM! is offered only once per event at 10:00 pm.
Glisten!
NEW this year – Glisten! is a first-ever ice skating show at Hollywood Studios featuring professional ice skaters and a new, original song for Jollywood. The 15-minute show plays off projections on the Chinese Theater and features costume changes and props. There is no seating for this show but if you’re looking to be close to the stage, cast members require that you sit on the ground so as not to obstruct the view. If you would prefer to stand, there is a taped-off section further back.
Our team was pretty mixed on what we thought of Glisten! The performers are extremely talented and we loved the addition of an ice skating show to Jollywood Nights! However, some of the songs felt overly cheesy and the choreography with the storyline fell flat at times. The bottom line is that you should absolutely still watch Glisten! during your visit to Jollywood. The show is a lot of fun and the location is convenient to watch in between all the other activities.
Glisten! is offered five times throughout the night at 8:15 pm, 9:15 pm, 10:30 pm, 11:15 pm, 12:15 am.
Special Event Menu Items
The food and drink options at Jollywood nights are SO good and there’s too many options to be able to enjoy them all! We suggest really studying the menus before attending and making a priority list. You can see full details of everything offered here.
We especially enjoyed the menu at ABC Commissary, in particular –
- Chicken Empanadas with Street Corn – chicken empanadas served with a side of street corn salad topped with chili peppers, lime, and Cotija cheese for $6.29.
- Yuca con Chicharron – fried pork belly, yuca fires, red pickled onions, and chili-lime seasoning with a yellow pepper aioli for $5.79.
- Mexican Hot Cocoa Cheesecake – holiday chocolate cookie streusel, whipped cinnamon chocolate cheesecake, and spiced whipped cream topped with a sprinkle of cinnamon and a Wondermade churro marshmallow for $5.29.
Maybe the best highlight from the 2024 Disney Jollywood Nights, is how much fun we all had! This event gives Hollywood Studios a new life and feels like the Christmas party you’ve always dreamed of attending. Be sure to let us know in the comments if you’re headed to Jollywood this season and what you’re looking forward to most. Happy Holidays!
