Time flies when you’re having fun, especially Disney Halloween fun. Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party only gives you five official hours inside Magic Kingdom, and there’s a SO MUCH to fit into one night!
Between the event’s exclusive entertainment, rare characters, attraction overlays, trick-or-treating, limited-time food, and plenty of rides… you probably won’t do absolutely everything.
If you’re attending one of the remaining 2026 party nights, or already thinking ahead to 2027, here are a few ways to make those five hours count.
Arrive at 4 PM, Not 7 PM
Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party officially runs from 7 PM to midnight, but your party ticket gets you into Magic Kingdom beginning at 4 PM without needing regular daytime park admission. This is a great time to ride a few attractions, grab an early meal, take photos while there’s still daylight, and get your party wristband, event guide map, and trick-or-treat bag squared away before 7 PM.
I’d especially consider getting some of your regular Magic Kingdom must-dos out of the way before the party. Once 7 PM rolls around, your time is much better spent on things you can’t experience during a normal park day.
Eat Before the Party Starts
There are SO MANY limited-time eats and treats during Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, but I wouldn’t use a big chunk of those precious five hours eating dinner.
Consider having a larger meal before arriving, or eat between 4 and 7 PM. Once the party begins, you can concentrate on the Halloween-exclusive snacks you actually came to try (might I suggest the Headless Horseman dessert from Casey’s Corner?).
A sit-down meal or even a busy quick-service stop can easily eat into your night. Mobile Order can help, but I’d still prioritize the party-exclusive treats that are easy to grab between shows, rides, and treat trails.
Have a Plan Before 7 PM
You don’t need an hour-by-hour itinerary, but decide what your must-dos are before you arrive.
If meeting a rare character is your number-one priority, that could determine where you need to be early in the evening. If Boo-to-You is non-negotiable, work the rest of your plans around the parade and where you want to view it from. If you mostly care about rides and candy, your night can be much more flexible.
The major entertainment offerings don’t all happen at once, which makes a little advance planning worthwhile. For 2026:
- Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular is scheduled for 9:05 PM, 10:35 PM, and midnight
- Disney’s Not-So-Spooky Spectacular takes place at 10 PM
- Mickey’s Boo-To-You Halloween Parade steps off at 8:15 PM and 11:15 PM from Frontierland to Main Street, U.S.A.
Trying to bounce between every major offering without any priorities is an easy way to spend half the party walking back and forth across Magic Kingdom. Pick a few things you absolutely want to accomplish and treat everything else as a bonus!
Trick-or-Treat… Later
Besides picking up your initial trick-or-treat bag and grabbing some candy as you pass convenient locations, consider saving your serious trick-or-treating for later in the evening. Earlier in the night, many guests immediately head toward treat trails, characters, and attractions. Lines can become much easier later.
At one of our previous parties, we found the Adventureland treat trails practically empty around 10:30 PM. We kept looping through and ended the night with multiple bags full of candy. Cast Members were being pretty generous with those late-night scoops, too!
Don’t Spend the Whole Night in Lines
This is especially important for character meet-and-greets. MNSSHP offers characters and costumes you don’t normally see around Magic Kingdom, but some can command significant waits. If one is important to you, absolutely make time for it. If you’re only mildly interested, ask yourself whether that photo is worth giving up an hour of a five-hour party. The same goes for food, merchandise, and rides. A little flexibility can save a surprising amount of time!
TIP: Save those character meet and greets with higher waits for during parade and fireworks show times, when less guests are likely to be waiting for characters.

Don’t Turn Into a Pumpkin at Midnight
The party entertainment and attractions may end at midnight, but you don’t have to sprint for the exit the second the clock strikes 12!
If you’re already in line for an attraction before closing, finish your ride. If you’re catching that final Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular, enjoy the show. If you saved meeting Jack and Sally for the end of the night with a lesser wait, hop in line at 11:55pm — like we did!
Then take your time heading down Main Street. This can be one of the best opportunities for late-night costume photos or Magic Shots with less guests around. You can also browse the Emporium on your way out rather than using valuable party time to shop earlier in the evening.
One Last Tip: You Can’t Do Everything
The biggest mistake you can make at Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is treating it like a checklist you have to complete. There’s simply too much going on! Decide what makes the party worth the ticket price for you.
Maybe that’s meeting rare characters. Maybe you want a prime viewing spot for Boo-to-You, Hocus Pocus, or fireworks. Maybe you’re determined to leave Magic Kingdom with an unreasonable quantity of candy. Or maybe you want to ride Haunted Mansion on a Halloween party night and spend the rest of your evening enjoying shorter attraction waits.
Prioritize those things first and leave some room to wander. Half the fun of MNSSHP is simply being inside Magic Kingdom on a Halloween night, surrounded by costumes, spooky lighting, happy haunts, and that Boo-to-You music you’ll inevitably be humming for the next week.
Five hours goes very quickly. Make them count, but don’t schedule the fun out of your Halloween party.
