Longtime EPCOT Pianist Carol Stein Returns to Disney World at Casey’s Corner

A familiar Walt Disney World musician has a new home at Magic KingdomCarol Stein, longtime EPCOT pianist and 36-year Disney cast member, has joined the musical lineup at Casey’s Corner on Main Street, U.S.A.

Stein stepped away from full-time performing in November 2022 after decades of entertaining Walt Disney World guests. Now, she’s back behind the piano, this time playing the ragtime tunes and Disney favorites at Casey’s Corner.

“Casey’s Corner is such a joyful, high-energy place, and I’m thrilled to be part of it,” Stein said. She compared the new role to the first day of school, adding that she spent time learning new songs and revisiting old favorites in preparation for her Magic Kingdom debut.

While many Disney fans know Stein from EPCOT, her history with Walt Disney World stretches back to 1990, when she joined the Comedy Warehouse improv troupe at Pleasure Island as its house musician. She later performed at the Rose & Crown Pub in EPCOT’s United Kingdom pavilion, EPCOT festivals, Hoop-De-Doo Musical Revue and Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. Her move to Casey’s Corner adds another chapter to a Disney career spanning more than three decades.

Stein started reading music at just two years old and began formal piano lessons at four. She later earned a master’s degree from the University of Florida, became a Steinway Artist and earned induction into the Central Florida Jazz Hall of Fame. Her career has also taken her around the world, with performances in Switzerland, Hong Kong and Tokyo.

For her new role, Stein says guests can expect everything from classic ragtime to Disney music, including songs by one of her favorite composers, Alan Menken.

Hearing Carol Stein at the piano again feels like welcoming back an old friend. This time, she has Cinderella Castle just down the street, and thankfully, she hasn’t played her last Disney tune yet!
