Disney has recently updated the performance times for their nightly Happily Ever After fireworks show, which hints to signs of preparation for the all-new Magic Kingdom nighttime parade, Disney Starlight Parade.
Disney Starlight: Dream the Night Away was initially announced at D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event in August 2024, with a confirmed debut in summer 2025. It marks the first nighttime parade for Magic Kingdom in about 10 years! Concept art for multiple parade floats include inspirations from Peter Pan, Coco, Frozen, Disney Princesses, and more. While the parade was added to the Walt Disney World website and My Disney Experience app earlier this year, there has been no official debut date announced.
An updated Happily Ever After schedule seems to align with planning for new parade step-off times. In late June and early July, Happily Ever After is scheduled for 9:20PM each night. However, beginning July 6th, the fireworks show shifts to 10PM. This change remains in place on July 7th, as that is the latest date currently available on the calendar. Fireworks starting at 10PM is not standard for the park.
This shift is leading many to wonder if Starlight will debut the week after July 4th with two step-off times, likely at 9PM and 11PM, with the 10PM Happily Ever After showtime in between.
Although Disney has yet to officially announce an opening date for Disney Starlight, the recent shift in Happily Ever After showtimes strongly indicate parade operations are being considered in upcoming plans. A July 6th debut is possible.
There’s also a good chance we’ll see early previews for Cast Members, Annual Passholders, and other select guests — but so far, nothing has been confirmed just yet.
