Guests planning a stay at Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – French Quarter this fall will want to know about a temporary change coming to one of the resort’s most popular spots. Scat Cat’s Club Café and Lounge are both closing for refurbishment on October 6, with the café expected back in December and the lounge following in January 2027.
The two spaces are expected to reopen on different schedules. Disney currently plans to bring the café back in December, while the lounge is not expected to reopen until January 2027. Disney has not yet shared details about what work will be taking place during the refurbishment.
In the meantime, if you’re looking for the resort’s beloved beignets, you won’t have to completely give up them up! Beignets and coffee will move over to Sassagoula Floatworks & Food Factory, the resort’s quick-service dining location, during the café’s closure.
That includes the popular Mickey-shaped beignets, along with specialty coffee options. The seasonal Ghoulish Delight beignets, featuring a cookies-and-cream topping and marshmallow crème drizzle, will also be available at Sassagoula Floatworks & Food Factory through November 1.
The lounge’s evening service will also get a temporary replacement. Disney plans to operate a temporary bar near the café from 5 PM to 11 PM while the lounge remains closed. Details about the temporary bar’s menu and drink selection have not been announced yet.
Once the café reopens in December, beignets and coffee are expected to return to their usual location. The temporary bar may continue operating afterward, however, since the lounge is scheduled to remain closed until January 2027.
For guests with upcoming stays at Port Orleans French Quarter, the changes should be relatively easy to work around, but anyone planning a visit specifically for Scat Cat’s Club will want to keep these temporary closures in mind!
