Top 3 Things That Need to Change at Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party

It’s that time of year again! When the calendar changes to September in Orlando, it signals Fall and Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party in Walt Disney World! It is an exciting event but I feel it needs some changes. I have been attending the party for the last ten years and a good portion of it has been exactly the same every year. Before you start talking back to your computer or phone, keep in mind I have been going to the party every year for the last 10 years.

Yes, it a fun evening for the entire family. I love seeing the families in their costumes trick or treating, enjoying the shows, and trick or treating. I know that some people don’t get to come every year. Others will say that it is tradition to keep the parade exactly the same. Just follow my thinking for a few minutes and see if you don’t agree with me when I am done.

The Boo to You Parade- I think they need to change out some of the floats and performers in the parade. It seems since I have been going it has been the same. Disney is a giant entertainment company and should be able to change parts of the parade every few years. I love the Grave Diggers as they scrape down the streets!  I don’t love some of the random floats they use. This one for example. I know Disney can do better than this. Some of the other floats they have been using every year I have been there. Refreshing the parade would make die hard fans fall in love all over again with the parade.

This is another part of the show I wish they would change. Wouldn’t it be fun to see some Disney Villains performing in the parade?

How about extending the decorations and the theming further into the park? Once you walk off Main Street USA, where are the decorations?  I did see a few projections on the ground as I walked through the park but the purpose of Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party gets lost as you are back by Pecos Bill’s for example. Or have you walked through Adventureland on a party night? The crowd looks so festive with all the costumes you see as you walk around but nothing signals you are at a special event once you leave Main Street USA. Can you tell you are enjoying a Halloween Party in the picture below?

Hopefully you are following along with my thinking at this point.  We took a break at Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe during the party. There aren’t a lot of dining options during the party. I always love watching Sonny Eclipse perform.

Change up the little things.Would it be possible for Sonny to be playing, joking and singing some Halloween tunes. It would keep you immersed in the magic that is Walt Disney World. I fell in love with Walt Disney World because of  their attention to the tiniest detail.

Would I say don’t go to Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party?  No!! It is a wonderful event with lots of fun things to do and see. Be sure you don’t miss the Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular!

One of the lessons I have learned in life is that change is a good thing. You can change up some things at the best Halloween party around and have an even better event. What do you think?  Is there anything at Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party that you would change, or do you think they should leave it exactly how it is? Tell us in the comments below.

‘Til next time, See you in the parks!
