Some of you may have seen news of a brand new tour being offered at the Walt Disney World Resort floating around the internet. The tour is called “World of Dreams” and will cost a cool $12,000 for the day with the ability to add additional days for a discounted $10,000 per day.
That price is reportedly for up to six guests, up to twelve hours long, and includes two VIP Tour Guides. Additionally, the tour includes meals and alcoholic beverages among other things.
The standard price for a VIP Tour Guide is approximately $625 per hour with a 6-7 hour minimum.
You won’t find the details of this tour on any of the official Disney websites, however; at least for the moment anyway. This is basically Disney’s most ultimate in VIP tours and the possibilities are practically endless on what can be included with options from touring the Cinderella Castle Suite to backstage access, transportation, and the ability to dine at just about any of the Disney restaurants.
As you might be imagining, the folks at DISboards.com have plenty to say about the offering.
While most folks are thinking this is untouchable, others are tossing the idea around.
‘The Max Rebo‘ says,
If (and I think this is a big if) it truly does include all your food, you could make this work.
6 people is $2,000 a pop but one meal at V&A covers a good chunk of that. Add in another expensive meal and then front of the line/no wait at Galaxy’s Edge and getting to see the suite in the Castle and a unique viewing for a nighttime show and all of a sudden at least I can see how it makes sense.
It seems that when the possibility of touring the upcoming Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge via a VIP Tour comes into play, it makes folks scratch their heads and give it a thought.
Poster ‘Jimmy Mouse‘ writes,
I would so do this but only if the stars align. First of all, It would be an adult trip (sorry kids!). Second, I would need to have 2 other couples go with us to spread the cost and third, it would have to be a perfect weather day.
Poster, ‘LaidBackDad‘ brings up a point that I definitely didn’t think about,
I’ll be the guy who points out this tour is less than 6 tickets to the Super Bowl. If you are a big enough Disney fan and you view this as a “Disney Super Bowl” then the price is comparatively reasonable. The tour experience will last longer than the football game and this includes good food. I won’t be doing this tour or going to a Super Bowl anytime soon but it’s a matter of perspective.
