Disney's Port Orleans French Quarter

The fun and frolic of the New Orleans Mardi Gras combined with the romance and charm of the French Quarter is what you'll find at the Port Orleans French Quarter Resort (formerly Disney's Port Orleans Resort). The rooms are situated along quaint little "streets" decorated with mini wrought iron fences, cascades of bougainvillea and fountains. Romantic strolls along the Sassagoula River pathways add to the charm of this quiet little resort.

The 1,000+ rooms are 314 square feet each. A typical room has 2 queen beds, a nightstand, an armoire, a TV, a luggage rack, a small safe, a small table with 2 chairs, and 2 pedestal sinks with mirrors in a vanity area separate from the tub and commode.

There are some rooms available with a king size bed, and some of these are handicap accessible with a wheelchair-accessible shower in place of a tub.

TIP:  For a quiet riverview room, ask for Buildings 1 or 6.

Mardi Gras parade props decorate the walls of the Sassagoula Floatworks and Food Factory food court. American and Creole cuisine is served here.  Guests can feast on pizza, pasta, hamburgers, fried and spit-roasted chicken, barbecue ribs and sandwiches, cafe au lait, fresh fruit and baked goods. Hours are from 6 a.m. to midnight.

Room service is limited to pizza, salads, soft drinks and beer and is available from 4 p.m. to midnight.

A sea serpent water slide and a water spouting alligator band are both found at the main pool, the Doubloon Lagoon. A kiddie pool and spa can be found close by as well. Currently pool towels are available at the main pool and are distributed by CMs. Simply show your resort ID to get them. Swim noodles and tubes can also be rented. When you're tired of swimming, try the arcade, bicycle or Surrey Bike rentals, croquet or pedal, pontoon or canopy boat rentals at the marina.

Another benefit of being a guest at Port Orleans French Quarter, is that you can take the Sassagoula River boat cruise to the Downtown Disney Marketplace. These half-hour cruises leave about every 20 minutes or so.
