TAM Airlines wraps plane with Disney character design

Walt Disney World is not only decorating their monorails and theme park buses with character wraps, but they’re also wrapping airplanes. TAM, a Brazilian airline, now has a Disney character wrap on one of their Boeing 777-300 planes. This is the first time one of these Disney wraps has been added to a Latin American airline’s plane.  Back in 2013, a WestJet plane was painted with an image of Sorcerer Mickey.

The plane’s tail features a picture of the castle with a backdrop of fireworks. The fuselage bears a likeness of Mickey, Minnie, Donald, and Goofy riding a roller coaster, followed by the Walt Disney World logo.

It took 536 adhesive panels to cover 9,063 square feet on the airplane; these took 10 eight-hour days to apply.

“The Plane of Dreams” debuted in a ceremony with Tinker Bell waving her wand to remove the curtains and revealing the airplane behind. Mickey, Minnie, Donald, and Goofy were also on hand at the event.

The plan will fly internationally, with its first trip to Orlando scheduled for today, February 23.

Her Chicago-born husband, David, left the city for her, and they're now raising their three children (Jacob, Jonah and Lydia) just 12 miles from her hometown. As the Senior Editor of the DIS (wdwinfo.com), Leah spends a lot of time writing about, reading about, and discussing Disney. So, it should come as no surprise that one of her family's favorite ways to spend time is going to Walt Disney World and traveling on Disney Cruise Line. She also enjoys shopping, watching movies with her husband and doing crafts with and for her kids.
