On Tuesday, The Walt Disney Company had a favorable outcome from a lawsuit that was lodged against the company by shareholder Kenneth Simeone, alleging negligence on Disney’s behalf in its criticism of Florida’s legislation regarding a sexual identity law.
While Judge Lori Will agreed that the move might have been in poor business judgment, however, found no evidence that the company or its board members acted with negligence in the manner accused in the suit.
Reuters reported that “the ruling by Lori Will of Delaware’s Court of Chancery means that Disney will not have to turn over internal records including years of board members’ emails sought by shareholder Kenneth Simeone, who sued Disney in December.”
