Disney and Coach have announced a new partnership, “Disney x Coach”. This limited-edition collection is now available exclusively in the Coach store in Soho, New York and at Colette in Paris. On June 17, the collection will be released online at coach.com and in Coach stores around the world.
This year, Coach celebrates its 75th anniversary and the Disney collection is part of that celebration, which also includes a series of projects celebrating American pop culture.
The new collection will include a variety of handbags in all sizes, shoes, t-shirts, and other collectables. The featured artwork was sketched by Disney animators and will be shown on t-shirts and some of the signature Coach bags, like the Saddle and the Dinky.
It’s not just handbags that will be offered, there are even collectible oversize black leather Mickey dolls and plush beanbags in the range. The sneakers will have a redesigned version of the brand’s signature hangtag, now shaped like Mickey’s ears.
Coach Creative Director Stuart Vevers said, “Mickey Mouse is one of my earliest memories of American pop – his nostalgic charm, cheekiness, individuality and inherent cool make for the ultimate American icon. I’ve always seen Mickey as a playful rebel at heart and a timeless symbol of joy and creativity. That spirit reinforces the new youthful perspective we are bringing to luxury at Coach.”
Josh Silverman, Executive Vice President, Global Licensing, Disney Consumer Products and Interactive Media, said, “This collaboration brings together two iconic brands in fresh, yet timeless designs that celebrate the heritage and style of both Mickey and Coach. This incredible collection is sure to delight the fashion world and Disney fans alike.”
