Whenever I make my international voyage to the World Showcase, I know I am in for a series of delectable treats and snacks. Some who start their voyage in Canada will find a rather exciting food offering greets them. Just to the right of Showcase Plaza, there is sometimes quite the gathering in the line of this establishment. La Poutinerie, which recently underwent refurbishment, reopened on July 1st of this year. La Poutinerie, which you might have assumed from the name, serves poutine. A Canadian delicacy in which French fries are topped with mozzarella and gravy. This yummy snack has won a lot of EPCOT attendees over and gained a dedicated fanbase, serving both the traditional style as the Quebec: L’authentique and a version with mustard gravy, pickles, and smoked meat as the Montréal: Viande Fumée.
With La Poutinerie Hosted by Air Canada, the poutine delights are named after different destinations one might one day wish to visit. Not only is this establishment one of the best ways to get a cup of water if you’re in need of a refreshment, but it is definitely worth the hype and the wait, if there is one.
I can say from first-hand experience that the poutine served here is not overrated. It is absolutely delicious and the perfect savory delight. The fries are perfectly crispy, and if you are a cheese lover like me, you will not be disappointed.
Reviews like mine are not uncommon when discussing La Poutinerie, but making a trip all the way to EPCOT for it can be difficult, not only that but after a full trip around the world you might not have room for any more delicacies.
What a lot of people don’t know is that, while not sharing the Air Canada sponsorship, Disney poutine can be found outside of the World Showcase at Disney Springs. Sharing a telltale namesake, The Daily Poutine serves a collection of other fun poutine flavors.
The Daily Poutine offers an original style called Canadian Poutine, in case you missed out on your fix at EPCOT, but also a few other internationally inspired flavors. If you’re looking to try even more poutine after getting your fill at La Poutinerie, then I encourage you to try the Italian Poutine. With French Fries, Mozzarella, Pecorino Romano, and Turkey Bolognese Sauce. The entire menu has so much more to offer beyond that, including a Korean barbecue-inspired poutine and a butter chicken poutine.
The poutine here is just as tasty, so if you missed out on it at EPCOT, there is still time to try it! Don’t let your poutine cravings go insatiated.
