After the deadly alligator attack earlier this month, Walt Disney World is making more changes aimed at keeping guests safe. There is no longer any fishing allowed on property unless it is part of an official excursion.
The “No fishing” signs have been put up in places that were typically popular fishing locations, including Saratoga Springs, Fort Wilderness, and Old Key West.
Fences were previously erected along the resort beaches; netting has now been added to those fences.
As previously reported, the beaches will open one hour after sunrise and close one hour before sunset; they will still be open for fireworks viewing. They will be staffed by hotel employees.
There have also been signs erected on the beaches stating to beware of alligators and snakes and if seen, not to feed the wildlife.
