Girl comes out to her family in Splash Mountain ride photo

16-year-old Gina decided it was time to tell her family that she was gay, but wanted to do it in her own way.

A serious conversation wasn’t what she was looking for, so she secretly made up a sign that said “I’m gay!” and headed to Disneyland with her mom.

While Gina’s dad and brother already suspected that Gina was gay, her mom had no idea.

Gina sat in the back row on Splash Mountain and showed off her sign (behind her mom’s back) while the ride photo was being taken.  After seeing the photo, her mom shared it with the rest of the family and according to Gina, the reaction was “so positive”.

Gina also shared the photo on Twitter (@ginaslife3) and was overwhelmed with the more than 5,000 retweets, but said the best part was when people said that they were inspired by her.
