BREAKING: Tropical Americas Expansion to Feature Encanto and Indiana Jones at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Officially Opening in 2027

At the Disney Experiences Showcase during D23 at the Honda Center, it was officially confirmed that Tropical Americas will be coming to Disney’s Animal Kingdom, with the land opening in phases to allow guests a final chance to ride DINOSAUR.

Although this new land was teased with blue sky artwork at the 2023 Destination D23, it wasn’t officially confirmed until today.

Tropical Americas will replace Dinoland, U.S.A., and will feature an Indiana Jones attraction, a reimagined version of the current DINOSAUR ride, using the same ride system as the Indiana Jones attraction in Disneyland Park. Despite sharing the same ride system, the new Indiana Jones attraction will present an entirely new story set in a Mayan Temple. Visitors will also explore a new area known as the ‘village of hope,’ which will include a carousel featuring wood-carved Disney animals.

This new land will also include an Encanto section with a vibrant Casa Madrigal. Guests will arrive on the day Antonio receives his gift of communicating with animals, transported by magical, animated furniture within the house.
