Are you looking for a great place to have breakfast while you are at Walt Disney World? Do you plan on spending some time in Magic Kingdom? I have a recommendation for you. Steakhouse 71 doesn’t get the buzz that other restaurants do in Walt Disney World and is just a short walk away from Magic Kingdom.

On the ground floor of Disney’s Contemporary Resort is Steakhouse 71. The restaurant is named for the year the resort opened, 1971.

The design of the restaurant took elements from the 1970s. Some of their menu items were inspired by Walt Disney’s favorite foods. I recommend Walt’s Prime Rib Hash. They also have a lounge where they offer drinks and a limited menu.

If you are a lover of good pancakes, be sure to ask what the special seasonal pancakes are. The day we visited, they were lemon-blueberry. They will have a different seasonal pancake next week. They are so good! I couldn’t decide between the pancakes and the eggs Benedict. They offer the eggs Benedict two ways; the Floridian version has a crab cake on it. The server said it was a family recipe from a crabber in Maryland. It was very good.

As you enter the restaurant, be sure to take some time to look at the photos on the wall. You can view the very early days of Magic Kingdom when construction was underway, creating this theme park.

They serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner here. I love their breakfast menu. The servers are always great and love to make menu suggestions. Our favorite for breakfast used to be Whispering Canyon Cafe at Wilderness Lodge. If you like a more flexible menu, I highly recommend Steakhouse 71. You should make a dining reservation. It is a short walk to Magic Kingdom. Dining here allows you to park for 3 hours in their parking lot, or you can take the monorail to the restaurant. The next time you are in Walt Disney World, try Steakhouse 71. You won’t be sorry.
‘Til next time, see you in the parks!
