Closing Date for Boneyard at Disney’s Animal Kingdom; New Playground Promised

DinoLand’s transformation into the Tropical Americas is coming to a [bone]head at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, as Disney has confirmed the last day for the The Boneyard, the beloved dinosaur-themed playground. The Boneyard will permanently close on September 2nd, 2025, meaning September 1st is the last day to dig up fossils and play amongst the dino bones.

Alongside the Boneyard’s final date, Disney has also confirmed the new Tropical Americas land will feature a new play area when the land opens. Further details have not been shared just yet.

Fans of DinoLand U.S.A. still have a limited time to explore this prehistoric-themed area before the rest of the transformation begins, as both Restaurantosaurus and DINOSAUR will remain open throughout 2025.
