If you’ve never booked a “VGT” rate, you absolutely should. VGT stands for Verandah Guarantee and is an automatic discount of around 30%. Disney selects the verandah stateroom for you, but this usually plays in your favor, equating to an upgraded category at a much lower rate. This special rate does require full payment at the time of booking and is non-refundable unless you add Disney’s Vacation Protection Plan insurance (an additional 8%). But since these rates are usually “last minute,” they require payment in full and would be within the cancellation penalty period regardless.
