The Themed Entertainment Association (TEA) has announced the group of Thea Award honorees that will be included in its 23rd gala to be held early next year.
Winners include theme parks, museum exhibits and live shows from all over the world. However, many of the winners are familiar to fans of Southern California or Central Florida theme parks.
This year’s Thea Classic award goes to WaterWorld – A Live Sea War Spectacular, a popular show that has been presented at Universal Studios Hollywood for over 20 years.
Included among the Thea Awards for Outstanding Achievement are Disney’s Ghost Post (Connected Immersion on a Limited Budget), Universal Studios Hollywood’s Springfield USA (Themed Food & Beverage Experience), Shanghai Disneyland (Theme Park), Shanghai Disneyland’s Camp Discovery (Attraction), and Shanghai Disneyland’s Pirates of the Caribbean: Battle for the Sunken Treasure (Attraction).
The Thea Awards will be formally awarded on April 22, 2017 in a ceremony that is typically held in the Grand Ballroom of the Disneyland Hotel. Tickets for the gala event will go on sale in December.
