It’s Fall in Walt Disney World. You had planned to spend the entire day enjoying the park and the attractions. You notice storm clouds overhead. Where could you find a place to escape the storm when it starts raining?
We recently visited EPCOT in Walt Disney World and our day started out hot and sunny, when all of a sudden, there were some nasty-looking clouds in the distance. We kept on with our park touring strategy and the weather wasn’t improving.
So, where are some great places to take shelter from the storm?
You could take a long, slow ride through Spaceship Earth. PS: It reopens October 25, 2025.

You could also relax while it is raining in the breezeway by Creations.

You could head over to The Land pavilion. You could take some time and enjoy the show, Awesome Planet. Sunshine Seasons, the quick-service restaurant inside, has lots of tables and chairs. It does get crowded when the weather turns nasty outside.

We continued around World Showcase, hoping that the skies didn’t open. Note to self, Disney rain ponchos are $12.00. Don’t wait until it starts raining to find one in a store; they tend to sell out.
The American Adventure pavilion has a lobby area with displays, or you can go upstairs for the show.

We made it around to China before it started to rain. I took the opportunity to introduce someone to this show. It’s a beautiful show to watch, even on a sunny day. The preshow area has a number of benches; some people decided to forego the show and just sit in this room.

It continued to rain, so we decided to head out of the park. Typically, with the afternoon rains, it rains for about 30 minutes and then the sun comes out and is hot and steamy. Also, keep in mind, it could be raining on one side of the park and not the other. Florida weather can be weird sometimes.
‘Till next time, see you in the parks!
