Closure Dates Announced for Remainder of DinoLand at Walt Disney World

Now that The Boneyard in DinoLand at Disney’s Animal Kingdom is officially and permanently closed, a few other upcoming closures have been announced to make way for Tropical Americas.

The last day for guests to ride the DINOSAUR attraction is February 1, 2026. The attraction will close permanently on February 2, 2026. Starting February 2nd, DINOSAUR, Restaurantosaurus, and all of DinoLand will be officially closed.

With Restaurantosaurus closed as of February 2nd, its menu items will reportedly move to Harambe Market in early 2026. To get ready for the new menu items, Harambe Market will close for refurbishment this winter. Specific dates will be shared at a later time.

February 1st marks the last opportunity to meet Donald, Daisy, and Chip & Dale in DinoLand. Once the area closes on February 2nd, the characters will move to a different section of Disney’s Animal Kingdom, with additional information to be provided later.

Kali River Rapids at Disney’s Animal Kingdom will start its yearly refurbishment on October 6th and is expected to reopen in December. This early refurbishment will allow the attraction to be available before DINOSAUR and DinoLand close on February 2, 2026.

With closure dates for the remaining parts of DinoLand U.S.A., this marks the end of an era for Disney’s Animal Kingdom. For years, the land has been home to family-favorite attractions, quirky theming, and a unique look that stood apart from the rest of the park. While some fans feel nostalgic about saying goodbye, Disney has already shared that something new is on the horizon: the Tropical Americas area. This new land is expected to bring fresh stories, lush environments, and new experiences inspired by the culture of Africa and South American villages.

The question now is how fans feel about this big shift. Are you excited to welcome the Tropical Americas, or would you have preferred to see Disney reimagine and update the original DinoLand concept instead?
