Do you remember the 21st night of September? You will now!
On September 21, 2025, EPCOT’s wildly popular roller coaster, Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind will feature a very special soundtrack treat: the classic hit “September” by Earth, Wind & Fire will be the only song played throughout the entire day (9AM – 9PM, with an 8:30 AM early open for resort guests).
This is a rare departure from the ride’s typical format, which usually shuffles randomly between six iconic tracks such as “I Ran” by A Flock of Seagulls, “One Way or Another” by Blondie, “Everybody Wants to Rule the World” by Tears for Fears, “Disco Inferno” by The Trammps, and “Conga” by Gloria Estefan.
These songs play at random on each ride, there is no set way to request or determine which song you’re getting before you launch back into the cosmos. But now, September 21st is a special date for EPCOT thrill seekers, as a new tradition of exclusively playing September by Earth, Wind & Fire all day began in 2023. And just this morning, Disney teased the return of this funky disco tradition.
Wait — Living with the Land?!
In the video tease, an audio technician is selecting which song should be played on September 21st. Amongst the drawers filled with mixtapes with “September” written on them, they pull one for “Living with the Land Flute Ambience” with a “how did that get in there?”.
Meanwhile, that’s actually something many fans of EPCOT and The Land pavilion would love to see! There are already multiple comments on the video supporting this notion:
How about a retro EPCOT soundtrack day on October 1st for the park’s anniversary?! Just think: Horizons, One Little Spark, Spaceship Earth’s theme song…
