Twenty-five years ago, Disneyland Resort changed forever. In early 2001, the resort unveiled its most significant expansion to date with the opening of Disney California Adventure park, Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa, and the Downtown Disney District. What was once a parking lot became an entirely new side of the resort, and today, those spaces continue to grow, change, and welcome guests from around the world.
In 2026, Disneyland Resort will celebrate the 25th anniversary of all three destinations with limited-time experiences, special merchandise, nostalgic touches, and returning favorites. These offerings also roll into the ongoing Disneyland Resort 70th Celebration, making it an especially festive time to visit.

At Disney California Adventure, the park’s history takes center stage. Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse will debut brand-new anniversary outfits on Buena Vista Street starting February 6. Their looks feature bright colors and sun-inspired details that nod to the park’s early days. Fans of classic attractions will also be excited to see Soarin’ Over California return for a limited run from February 6 through July 1, 2026. The original attraction takes guests on a soaring journey across the Golden State, from Yosemite to the Golden Gate Bridge.

A limited-time cake shake, a first-of-its-kind Pixar Pal-A-Round bucket with interactive lighting effects, and a special anniversary merchandise collection will also be available for a short window in February. Guests visiting on February 8 may even receive a complimentary commemorative map while supplies last.

Over at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa, the anniversary celebration includes the debut of Humphrey the Bear at Storytellers Cafe during Donald’s Tales of Adventure dinner buffet.

A limited edition anniversary pin is also available, featuring Chip ‘n’ Dale in front of the hotel’s iconic Craftsman-style design.

Downtown Disney District joins the celebration as well, marking 25 years with special anniversary pins and a commemorative tote available at World of Disney.
