GayDays Orlando, a longtime annual LGBTQIA+ gathering held in Orlando each June, has announced that its 2026 event will not take place as scheduled.
In an email sent to subscribers over the weekend, organizers confirmed they have decided to pause the June 2026 GayDays Orlando event following what they described as extensive evaluation and difficult discussions. According to the announcement, several factors contributed to the decision, including major changes to the event’s host hotel agreement, the loss of key corporate sponsorships, and broader challenges affecting Pride and LGBTQIA+ community events nationwide.
Organizers explained that these issues made it impossible to deliver the GayDays experience to the level attendees have come to expect. While acknowledging the disappointment this news may bring, they emphasized that the decision was not made lightly.
For more than 30 years, GayDays Orlando has served as a space for community connection, visibility, and celebration, particularly for LGBTQIA+ visitors traveling to Central Florida and the theme park destination. The organizers stressed that their commitment to that mission has not changed. They say their goal is to return with an experience that reflects the energy, scale, and sense of community that have long defined GayDays.
Updates on next steps and future plans are expected in the coming months, and organizers indicated they plan to invite community feedback to help shape what comes next.
They closed their message by thanking supporters for their years of loyalty and belief in the event, noting that the community’s support remains deeply meaningful as GayDays looks ahead.
