Highlights from Bluey’s Best Day Ever at Disneyland

Bluey’s Best Day Ever! kicks off Sunday, March 22nd and we were lucky enough to experience a preview of this incredible addition to family fun at Disneyland! You can find the “Fun Fair” at the Fantasyland Theatre where Bluey’s school, Glasshouse Primary, is hosting “The Best Day Ever!” including games, photo ops, an interactive stage show, specially-themed food, and the chance to see Bluey and Bingo “for real life”.

For fans of the show Bluey, this addition is a dream come true. As a parent, I found myself getting to relive all the memories of watching the show as a family. This experience does a great job of making it memorable and accessible for everyone. It’s almost hard to capture just how well Disneyland nailed the introduction of Bluey into Disney Parks. So until you can experience it for yourself, here are just a few highlights to help plan your family’s Disneyland vacation!

The Fantasyland Theatre is a large space with plenty of bleacher seating plus an open area with photo ops and the opportunity for kids to run, dance, and play. This is also the home of Troubadour Tavern which has a highly-themed and delicious Bluey menu.

The most anticipated part of Bluey’s Best Day Ever! is the interactive stage show that happens throughout the day. There are two “shows”, guaranteeing you’ll get a unique experience during your visit to the “Fun Fair”. Be sure to check the Disneyland App to see specific show times. You’ll likely want to hang out before and after the show to take photos, play games, and enjoy the food.

Moments Straight from the Show

The biggest highlight of the entire experience was getting to see moments straight from the show. While Bluey and Bingo are the only characters who make a live appearance, Bluey’s friends and family visit in other ways. For instance, mum and dad show up on the screen when the “Bluey Theme Tune” is played, Muffin joins a video call to play ballerina, Unicorse hosts a game show and dance party, and Chattermax comes to kick-up the party.

The moments with Unicorse are pretty hilarious as he serves as a lovable distraction, in a totally new way.

When I heard there would be dancing at Bluey’s Best Day Ever!, I knew Chattermax to had to be there. To actually see Chattermax dance with Bluey and Bingo just like in the show had everyone smiling and dancing along.

I was really hoping to see Muffin in-person since she’s everyone’s favorite big personality and my favorite “grumpy granny”. It was still fun to see her included in a creative way that mimics the show when she “facey talks” with her cousins, Bluey and Bingo.

Live Music

Hearing our favorite Bluey songs performed by a live band had us completely in our feels and added to the interactive element of the show. The band is extremely talented and all of the big songs like “Who Likes to Dance?”, “The Weekend”, and “I Know a Place” are part of the mix. To walk around Bluey’s school and hear the music live, was extremely sentimental. Reminiscing on how my son’s grown up with both Disney Parks and Bluey, and combining those experiences into a new memory was everything.

Food

While I was super impressed the theming of the menu, I should have known it was going to be equally delicious! After all, there’s no food like Disneyland food. This will ultimately be a space that families can both have fun and relax. It’s so nice to have a menu for everyone.

Pizza Girls Baked Potato – pepperoni, sausage, bacon bits, marinara, mozzarella, Alfredo sauce, and parmesan herb topper – $12.29

The description sounds like all my favorite things and it still exceeded all of my expectations! The portion size is huge and the toppings are plentiful. The marinara is solid and the addition of the Alfredo sauce really helped to combine everything. I should have known those “pizza girls” are great at making and delivering pizzas. Even if Bluey isn’t your thing, I would add this to your must-have list next time you’re at Disneyland!

Poffertjes! Poffertjes! – mini Dutch pancakes topped with buttered condensed milk and powdered sugar – $7.99

The Poffertjes taste just like doughy, fluffy pancakes and are both soft and bite-sized. This ended up being my four-year-old’s favorite food item and I bet it’ll be yours too.

Pavlova Parfait – meringue bites, vanilla yogurt mousse, berry compote, vanilla cake, fresh berries, and candied kiwi – $7.99

Pavlova will always remind me of Bluey and how much the girls love it when playing cafe with Bandit. The parfait is both a fun and visually pretty version that’s sweet and just right for a warm Disneyland day. The candied kiwi with the blueberries and raspberries was good on its own but paired with the cake, mousse and compote, it’s fantastic. Don’t miss it.

Magic “Asparagus” Pretzel – pretzel rod covered in white chocolate – $3.99

Kids are going to love having the power of their own magic asparagus! Just be sure to eat it before it melts. I was really impressed by how much white chocolate there was, making it a fun addition for just $3.99.

Lime Ice Block Drink – pineapple limeade with coconut milk, and watermelon ice block – $10.79

I couldn’t get over just how delicious the Lime Ice Block Drink was! When the ice pop melts into the drink, it adds extra texture and flavor or just enjoy the ice pop on its own. The coconut milk with the pineapple limeade works so well. Both kids and adults will love this one.

Mud Cake Cold Brew – Joffrey’s Coffee French roast cold brew with malted milk topper, fudge brownie bits, and sprinkles – $7.79

I love that Disneyland thought of the parents and brought a special cold brew to the party! This is like drinking a liquid brownie with the benefit of caffeine.

Photo Ops and Interactive Moments

In between show times, you can take photos with the Heeler family car, the school’s gnome village, and the fairy garden. The theming really is impressive and life-size. It makes the entire space feel interactive, even if you’re just coming in to take a break and grab a snack.

As always at Disneyland, the performers are incredibly talented! After the show, the performers join the floor to play interactive games with the kids like puzzles, the matching game, and barky boats. While Bluey and Bingo stay on the stage for selfie moments, the performers engage with the audience.

Bluey really did bring the best day ever to Disneyland! Every aspect of the experience is a love letter to the show that both adults and kids will appreciate. More importantly, the interactive nature of the free-flowing environment makes for spontaneous moments and the opportunity to make memories together as a family. Not only that, it’s a totally different Bluey experience from what’s found on Disney Cruise Line and is a sign of good-things to come for the Bluey/ Disney partnership. I’m so happy to not only have Bluey at Disney but to experience it in a new way with my family.
