Hey Disney friends! I’ve got some exciting news for all my fellow Disney fans here in this part of the world because D23 Asia: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event is officially coming to Singapore in 2027! And honestly, as an Aussie Disney lover who has spent years staying up at unfortunate hours to follow D23 announcements from the United States, this feels like a huge win. Finally, something is happening in a friendly timezone for us!
If you’ve never followed D23 before, it’s basically Disney fan heaven. The Anaheim events in the U.S. have become legendary over the years, packed with major announcements, celebrity appearances, exclusive merchandise, behind-the-scenes panels, previews of upcoming projects, and enough Disney excitement to completely overwhelm your wallet and your emotions in equal measure. It’s one of those bucket-list experiences for Disney fans because there really is nothing else quite like it.
What makes this even more exciting is that Disney isn’t simply copying the U.S. version and moving it overseas. D23 Asia is expected to include experiences designed specifically for Asia Pacific audiences, along with previews of regional Disney+ content and appearances from creative talent connected to those productions. It feels like Disney is finally recognizing just how huge and passionate the fan community is across this side of the world, and honestly, it’s about time.
And Singapore feels like the perfect place to host it. It’s such an accessible travel hub for Australia, and the broader Asia Pacific region, that suddenly attending a Disney fan event like this feels realistic for so many more people. Flying to California for D23 has always been a dream for many fans, but also a huge financial and logistical commitment. This feels different. This feels accessible.
Disney hasn’t released dates or ticket details just yet, but with the event officially set for 2027, I already know plenty of Disney fans are mentally preparing themselves for the merch booths alone. Personally, I’m just excited to see Disney magic celebrated in a whole new part of the world, and I can’t wait to see what this first D23 Asia event turns into.
